Project Overview
Large-scale space frame grid sports stadium is the core structural form of modern sports buildings. It realizes a column-free panoramic stadium through a large-span space grid. It is suitable for football fields, comprehensive gymnasiums and other 10,000-person stadiums. Typical cases include Shenzhen Universiade Center and Beijing Bird's Nest. Its design combines mechanical properties with architectural aesthetics, can cover standard track and field stadiums (about 200m×150m) and withstand extreme climates.
Structural system
Main space frame grid: adopts a two-way orthogonal or triangular pyramid space grid structure with a span of 250-350 meters and a grid size of 3-6 meters. The rods are connected by high-strength steel pipes (Q355B or above) through ball nodes (diameter 300-600mm) to form a self-balanced force system.
Support system: V-shaped inclined columns or ring trusses are set around the perimeter to transfer the roof load to the concrete core tube, reduce internal support, and release more than 90% of the audience's field of view.
Roof design: The outer layer is covered with PTFE membrane or metal roof panels, and the inner layer integrates sound absorption and lighting modules. Some projects use openable and closable ceilings (such as Hangzhou Olympic Sports Center), and the opening and closing time is ≤20 minutes.
Core technology innovation
Digital construction: Mechanical simulation and collision detection based on BIM, guiding the precise prefabrication of tens of thousands of rods (error ≤2mm), shortening the construction period by 30%;
Intelligent monitoring: Implanting fiber optic sensors to monitor stress and deformation in real time, and early warning of structural risks (accuracy up to 0.01mm);
Green integration: The roof is laid with photovoltaic film (annual power generation of 500,000-1 million degrees) and rainwater recycling system, meeting LEED gold certification.
Functional integration highlights
Acoustic optimization: micro-perforated sound-absorbing panels are built into the grid ceiling, and the reverberation time is controlled at 1.5-2 seconds to ensure voice clarity;
Equipment load: suspended LED bucket screens, sound reinforcement systems and horse paths are integrated into grid nodes, with a load reserve of ≥5kN/point;
Emergency design: the fire resistance limit of the grid fireproof coating is ≥2 hours, and the evacuation channel is combined with the structural form optimization, and the 60,000-person field can be cleared within 8 minutes.
