Project Overview
The Dalian Shipyard Tube Truss Project is the core infrastructure of the shipbuilding industry, mainly used for giant gantry crane track beams and section assembly workshop ceilings for 300,000-ton docks (such as VLCC tankers and large container ships). The main body is a two-way tube truss system with a maximum single span of 180-220 meters and a total length of over 500 meters. It carries the operation of 1,000-ton gantry cranes and heavy hull section storage, supporting the upgrading of China's high-end shipbuilding capacity.
Core Structural Design
Load System
Dynamic Load: Withstands 2×1000-ton gantry crane wheel pressure (single point load ≥5000kN), hoisting impact and wind vibration (basic wind pressure 0.75kN/m²);
Constant Load: Self-weight + workshop equipment (uniformly distributed load ≥3.5kN/m²).
Truss structure
Main truss: triangular cross-section space tube truss, chord is made of Φ600×40mm high-strength steel pipe (Q390C), web is Φ299×20mm, node is cast steel (G20Mn5QT) + welded plate;
Secondary structure: lateral stable truss spacing is 12 meters, also used as maintenance horseway;
Foundation: bored cast-in-place pile (diameter 1.2m, depth 50m) + concrete pedestal, settlement control ≤30mm.
Disaster resistance design
Seismic resistance: 8-degree fortification, node ductile structure (plastic energy dissipation zone strengthened);
Anti-corrosion: thermal spray aluminum coating (120μm) + epoxy sealant, salt spray resistance ≥5000 hours;
Fire protection: intumescent fire retardant coating (fire resistance limit 2.5 hours).
Industrial Value
The project takes large span, heavy load and high precision as its core competitiveness, and solves the industry pain points of efficient transportation and open-air assembly of ship sections:
The gantry crane fully covers the dock, and the lifting efficiency is improved by 40%;
The workshop ceiling resists salt spray corrosion in the Bohai Bay, and the equipment maintenance cost is reduced by 60%;
The structural redundancy ensures 24-hour continuous production, supporting the annual manufacturing capacity of 10 very large crude tankers (VLCCs), becoming a landmark project for China's shipbuilding industry to move towards high-end.
